Embracing the Culinary Journey: A Passion for Cooking.

From the comforting aroma of my mother's kitchen to the different flavors of global cuisines, my journey through the world of cooking has been a deliciously inspiring adventure. It all started with a simple act, when I was a little girl I used to stand out next to the kitchen’s door and see my mother cooking, which created a fascination towards cooking in my heart from a young age.

Growing up, the kitchen was more than just a room in our home; it was the heart of our family. As my mother expertly diced vegetables and seasoned meats, I stood beside her, wide-eyed and eager to learn. She taught me not only the fundamentals of cooking but also the importance of patience, precision, and passion. With every dish she prepared, I witnessed the transformative power of food to bring people together, to evoke memories, and to nourish the soul.

From there I slowly started to step into the kitchen all by myself to try to make something.

Instead of watching other shows I started to watch cooking shows on the television and look for recipes for different cuisines on the internet. After seeing cooking shows I used to experiment in the kitchen and make my family and friends try the dish. After trying the food they used to give compliments all the time which kept me motivated.

My passion for cooking is not just about mastering recipes or techniques; it's about embracing the creativity and connection that food brings to our lives. It's about the joy of sharing a homemade meal with loved ones, the satisfaction of turning simple ingredients into something extraordinary, and the endless possibilities that lie within a well-stocked pantry.

For some people cooking might be a simple thing but for me it's a therapy. Whenever I’m sad, clueless or stressed; I step into the kitchen and make something. It certainly puts me in a good mood, cheers me up to the fullest. Not only that when I’m happy or achieve something good , I whip something up for myself to celebrate that.

Like art therapy, drama therapy, and a number of other psychological practices, cooking is my kind of therapy. It's my time to be me. It’s the “art form” I pride myself at being good at and I don’t have to try (unlike drawing…not so good at that!).

Like a child getting a new toy, I get excited when I discover new foods and ingredients. My mind feels “at home” when it’s in the process of creating in the kitchen. It’s fun getting the ingredients, piling them all on the counter, then chopping, stirring, adding a pinch of this and a splash of that. Then I have to wait for everything to cook. Finally the reward of my creativity is taken out of the pan  and placed on a plate.

Cooking is pure joy and fun for me. I cook as a way to ground myself, to think clearly and to relax for a change . I enjoy researching ingredients I’ve never heard of before, what pairs best with this spice or that vegetable. When someone strikes up a conversation with me about cooking, I could go on for hours, so be prepared! Through cuts, burns, failed recipes, forgotten ingredients, I still find joy in the art of cooking.

Mostly the fact which I love about cooking is that a basic human necessity can show someone how much you care and appreciate your loved ones. For me it’s not just a hobby. It’s my whole childhood and the memories that I spent with my mother in the kitchen. It’s a way to show my love for my loved ones.
