Music is everywhere around us.

A traditional instrument of music. |
It was widely accepted at the beginning of the 20th century that a musical tone’s regularity of vibrations gave it a fixed pitch and set it apart from noise. Traditional music may have contributed to the acceptance of such viewpoint, but by the second half of the 20th century, it was seen as a unsuitable benchmark. American composer John Cage and other composers employed random sounds—without knowing in advance what they would be—in pieces containing aleatory (chance) or spontaneous elements. Furthermore, tone is only one element of music; the other elements are texture, timbre (or color of tone), and rhythm.

emotional and physical wellbeing. The approach being taken determines how it
functions. The majority of music therapy sessions are conducted one-on-one with
a professional in the field.
During a session, you could be required to sit or lie down
and listen to sounds produced by an instrument or speaker or you might be
required to apply vibrations using a tuning fork or other specialized
equipment. Depending on the approach, you can be asked to join in by moving,
singing or even playing an instrument or you might have to be still and silent
in order for the sounds to have an impact.
