Undefined Elite Clash of Sentinels : Inside the VCT Territory

The highest-ranking Esports league for Riot Games' strategic shooter Valorant is called the Valorant Champions Tour, or VCT for short. It's basically the traditional sports equivalent of a professional league system for courageous performers. In 2020, Riot Games, the organization creating Valorant, announced the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT). A globally competitive structure for Valorant Esports was launched with the start of the first VCT season in 2021. Riot introduced their partnership format in September 2022, picking 30 partnered teams to compete in the VCT. They also verified that VCT and Valorant will be released in China in 2024. With an expanded format that includes 40 partnered teams and four regional leagues, including China, the current season is called VCT 2024.

Sentinels: Rebuilding a Dynasty in 2024

In 2024, the Sentinels, who were previously the dominant monarchs of Valorant, began their quest to retake the throne. Following a successful 2023 campaign, they brought in strategic experts "johnqt" as their In-Game Leader (IGL) and added "Zellsis" as their sixth player to start 2024 with a completely redesigned roster.

Even with players like "TenZ" and "SicK," their core firepower is still impressive, but the group is still coming together under their new captain. They won the Masters Madrid in Stage 1 of VCT 2024, displaying sparks of their previous greatness. They haven't yet won a regional championship, though, so consistency appears to be difficult to achieve.
Still unresolved issues remain: Is it possible for "johnqt" to take the place of "Cypher" as a strategic advisor? Will "Zellsis" be able to offer the required adaptability as a sixth player? The forthcoming phases of VCT 2024 hold the solution. There is no doubt about it: the Sentinels are formidable forces, and it will be fascinating to follow them as they work to restore their position as brave royalty.

Zekken is likely known for his exceptional aim and ability to secure crucial frags (kills) for the team. He might be comfortable taking on risky plays and entry duels (initial fights when entering a site). This aggressive style can disrupt opponents' strategies and create space for his teammates to follow up and secure objectives.

Zellsis :  Adaptability and Potential Roles

Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro is a relatively new addition to the Sentinels roster for VCT 2024. He brings a unique advantage as a sixth player, offering flexibility in terms of role and agent selection. Zellsis' presence as a sixth player allows the Sentinels to have strategic advantages. They can adapt their team composition based on the map, opponent, and overall game plan. This flexibility can keep opponents guessing and potentially give the Sentinels an edge.

Sacy : A Brazilian Star Ascended to Sentinels

Sacy began his esports career in League of Legends before transitioning to Valorant. He established himself as a top player in Brazil, leading Team Vikings to two VCT Challengers Brazil championships. Using agents like Breach or Skye to gather intel, disrupt enemy formations, and set up his team for success. VCT 2024 is still young, so Sacy's specific role and influence on the Sentinels are unfolding.

Regaining dominance in the region and winning the Valorant Champions Tour are the Sentinels' two main goals for 2024.

Even though they won the Masters Madrid, they haven't yet reached Stage 1 glory in their particular region (the Americas, for example). They need to be consistent and adjust to the new VCT format if they want to win a regional championship.

But the Valorant Champions Tour itself continues to be the bigger picture. They hope to unseat any possible rivals and take back the worldwide Valorant title they won in 2023 with a redesigned roster and tactical changes. Their ultimate goal is to dominate the international scene, and every match and tournament win puts them closer to that goal. There are many strong opponents in front of them, but the Sentinels are determined to prove themselves once more thanks to their strategic brilliance and hunger for victory.
